By 2010, the combined efforts of PlayPumps International and its partners will bring the benefits of clean drinking water to up to 10 million people through the installation of 4,000 PlayPump® water systems in schools and communities in 10 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa. 

To date, PlayPumps International has donated more than 1,000 PlayPump systems to communities in South Africa, Lesotho, Mozambique, Swaziland, and Zambia benefiting millions of people.  Expansion over the next few years will bring PlayPump systems to Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Tanzania, and Uganda.

In addition to providing access to drinking water, other benefits to the community will be:

• Exposure to positive social messages such as HIV/AIDS prevention and hygiene education;
• Improved hygiene and sanitation in schools; and,
• Valued play equipment.

We cannot achieve this ambitious goal alone. Building on our success in South Africa, we hope to form new partnerships with foundations, corporations, NGOs, and international finance institutions.
