Recognize World Water Day on March 22

World Water Day 2009Every year, March 22 marks World Water Day, an international day of observance and action to draw attention to the role that water plays in our world and lives. The United Nations General Assembly designated the first World Water Day in 1992 to focus on critical water issues for developing nations. Each year the UN and the international community honor the day and spotlight a particular theme about water.

In 2010, PlayPumps International will call attention to water that cross borders and link us together.

  • Send a text to five of your friends about World Water Day. Educate them about the global water crisis.
  • Donate your email signature.
  • Hold a water walk at your school, church, or office. How far you can carry a 5 gallon water jug?
  • Download our Action Kit and get started to create your very own fundraiser for school groups, faith-based groups, club fundraisers, wedding and birthday gifts, and more.
